Trekking Peru

Peru is one of top trekking holidays destinations on the world. It can not rival a classical trek destination like Nepal’s Himalaya. Inca Trail

Inca Trail, a classical trek, the ultimate Peru trekking experience. Inca trail will lead trekkers along old Incas routes high above river Urubamba. Beginning is at 82nd kilometer of the railway Cusco – Aguas Callentes. From there trekking stars by climbing 3 passes and walking along Andean valleys. Various Incas ruins can be seen along the trail.

The end of a trail is a highlight of 4 days walking experience. Machu Picchu is a final destination of this magnificent trek. Lost city discovered in 1911 by Hiram Bingham is a jewel of the Incas mastership building. Its temple and mythical peak of Huayna Picchu reassembles a culmination of Inca emporium.

Salkantay trek

This is second most popular trekking in Peru. As Inca Trail, takes four days to finish it. It is an alternative trail to Machu Picchu. While classical trail can be sometimes crowded this is a good option for those who want to enjoy peace during trek.

Starting point of trekking is village Soraypampa. From there path climbs up to a high pass and descents to a tropical forest. View of beautiful snow tapped peak of Nevado Salkantay can be admired during this trek. Near the end of trail, coffee and banana plants can be observed. Final destination is village Aguas Callentes a starting point for a visit of Machu Picchu.

Choquequirao trek

Recently discovered Choquequirao ruins can be reached only by foot. 4 days long trekking takes us to one of the last Inca shelters. Unspoiled nature, biodiversity and one of the last Inca shelters are highlights of this trekking Peru.

Treks in Huaraz area

If you intend to spend holidays in Cordillera Blanca, there is fine selection of different treks in Huaraz area. From 1 day treks reaching near villages, to large treks. One of the largest and popular is circular trekking around Cordillera Huayhuash. A classical trek takes 12 days. Views of Huayhuash Nevados are spectacular. It is said that this is one of the best trekking circuits around the world.
