Coins

One Nuevo Sol equals to 100 Centimos. Coins of 1, 5, 10, 20 and 50 Centimos are available. Other coins are 1, 2 and 5 Soles coins. Be aware of 1 Sole coin as forget ones can be found quite often.

Banknotes

Banknotes of 10, 20, 50 and 100 Soles are used in Peru. Pay a special attention when changing money. There are forged banknotes in circulation. If it is possible, change your money in a bank.

Automatic teller machines (ATM)

Every mayor bank in Peru has ATM machines installed. ATMs are safe option for money redraw. Use debit cards like Maestro for cash redraw, since only a fixed fee (around 2.5 EUR) per transaction is applied. Choose Soles when obtaining cash from ATM, otherwise you will have to change dollars in bank and loose more money with conversion.
